Exhibition Opening Reception
heartsopening presents an art exhibition featuring the work of Jodi Adams.
Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, November 3 from 6pm - 8pm at 115 W. Main, the Living Yoga Center.
Adams' work explores the ever-changing landscape of the natural world. Through this introspective work, she challenges the viewer to examine their own inner landscape of the soul. The images portray the natural world in flux, embodying our inner duality of light and dark, seen and unseen, reality and dream.
Yoga
Jodi Adams has recently become a Registered Yoga Teacher. She has been practicing yoga since 1991. Jodi believes in the restorative benefits of yoga. No matter ones age or flexibility, she offers a practice to awaken strength, balance, and a mind/body connection. Yoga has served Jodi well through adversity and times of stress, and she is ultimately inspired to empower others to tap into their own inner strength, to find their voice, their breath, and their true Self.
Please contact her directly for information on private instruction, availability and rates.
Revolution of Self
The opening reception of Alumni on 5: Alumni in the Library Exhibitions, "Revolution of Self" was a huge success! Thanks to all of the artists who submitted their amazing work.
For those who could not attend, please be aware that the exhibition will be open until March, 2012.
624 S. Michigan, Columbia College Chicago Library, 5th Floor
The Fall 2011 exhibition explores the rawness of self-portraiture and self-exploration when it is approached with honesty, both brutal and beautiful; our necessary non-fictions.
What is self-portrait and how can you use it to express revolution of self?
What happens when everything you thought you once knew has been altered; when the necessary fictions melt away?
What does this change look like?
How do you express this revolution/revelation, in your art?
